Ham & Swiss Breakfast Bake

This twist on a classic French sandwich is ready for the oven in just 15 minutes.

  • 8 large eggs
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1 loaf sourdough bread, thickly sliced
  • ½ cup whole-grain mustard
  • 8 oz. thinly sliced ham or prosciutto
  • 8 oz. Swiss cheese, shredded and divided


  1. In bowl, whisk eggs, milk and thyme; season to taste with salt and pepper. Pour half the mixture into greased 9″ x 13″ dish. Spread bread with mustard; arrange half mustard side up in dish. Layer with ham and half the cheese. Top with bread. Pour remaining egg mixture over top. Cover; refrigerate overnight or until ready to bake.
  2. Heat oven to 375°F. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake 40 min.
