Pear & Eggnog French Toast

Christmas morning is sure to be extra-sweet thanks to this festive breakfast casserole that you can prep the night before.

  • 3 large ripe pears, peeled and diced
  • 1 Tbs. sugar
  • 1½ Tbs. butter
  • 1 loaf cinnamon-raisin bread, sliced
  • ½ cup grated semisweet chocolate
  • 2½ cups prepared eggnog
  • 4 large eggs


  1. In pan over medium heat, cook pears and sugar in butter 10 min. Let cool. In casserole dish, alternate layers of bread, pears and chocolate.
  2. In bowl, whisk nog and eggs; reserve ½ cup, then pour the rest over bread. Chill 1 hr. or overnight.
  3. Heat oven to 350°F. Pour on reserved eggnog. Bake 1½ hrs. on baking sheet. Garnish as desired.
