Italian Pan-Seared Pork Recipe Is a Sheet-Pan Delight That Cooks in 20 Minutes

If you’re looking for an easy way to serve meat and veggies at the dinner table, try this recipe for Italian Pan-Seared Pork. It’s a tangy and pungent sheet-pan dish that features ingredients like pork chops, zucchini, garlic powder and fontina cheese. Although boneless chops allow this dish to cook in just 20 minutes, you can use bone-in pork chops instead for extra moist and flavorful meat. 

Bone-in chops are often thicker than the boneless variety, so they’ll need to sear for about 5 to 6 minutes per side. This helps ensure that the outside is nicely browned and the inside reaches an internal temperature of 145°F. Then, you can proceed with the remaining steps in the recipe. Complete the dish with a starchy side like warm crusty bread, fluffy orzo, or roasted potatoes and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbs. olive oil
  • 1 (9 oz.) zucchini, halved lengthwise, sliced
  • 1½ cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ½ cup sliced red onion
  • 6 thin-sliced boneless pork chops (about 2 lbs.)
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded fontina cheese

Instructions

In nonstick skillet, heat 1 Tbs. oil over medium-high heat. Add zucchini, tomatoes, onion, 1⁄4 tsp. salt and 1⁄8 tsp. pepper. Cook, stirring, until softened, 5 min. Remove. Sprinkle chops with garlic powder, ½ tsp. salt and 1⁄4 tsp. pepper.

In same skillet, heat remaining oil over high heat. In batches, cook chops, flipping once, until browned and no longer pink in centers, about 2 min. per side.

Heat broiler. Place chops and vegetables on rimmed baking sheet. Sprinkle with cheese. Broil until cheese melts, 2 min. Transfer to platter.
