For those wondering if using baby powder is safe after recent headlines linked talcum-based products to health concerns, the American Cancer Society claims that that it is “not clear if consumer products containing talcum powder increase cancer risk.” They cite “mixed results” from studies, but warn “there is some suggestion of a possible increase in ovarian cancer risk.” These worries led Johnson & Johnson to pull all talcum-based products from shelves in the US and Canada. They still provide cornstarch-based options instead, which should be safe for all to use.
