Being a parent is hard — we all know that —but a new study suggests being a working mom is more time-consuming than we thought.
According to Working Mother, Welch's Grape Fruit Juice commissioned a study of 2,000 women and found that the average mom spent 98 hours (98!) each week working at the office and taking care of things at home.

The women in the study were all parents to kids ranging in age from five to 12, so you can imagine the amount of time these ladies spent shuttling their kids to and from school, extracurricular activities, doctor appointments, and friends' houses. According to the results, the average mom's day starts at 6:23 a.m. and ends at 8:31 p.m. — that's a total of about 14 hours! And let's be real, you never really get to stop being a mommy.
So how do moms like to treat themselves? Well, the sad answer is they probably don't even get to treat themselves that much. The Welch's study reports that the average mom only gets one hour and seven minutes of free time every day. Yikes! With such a limited amount of time to relax before you start fighting to keep your eyelids open, it's not hard to understand why moms need to get away every now and then.

Participants also came up with their mommy must-haves, and, not surprisingly, baby wipes and kids' TV shows were at the top of the list. Wine (duh!), drive-thru meals, Grandma and Grandpa, and reliable baby sitters also made the list.
While it's surprising to see just how much time moms everywhere are devoting to everyone but themselves, we'd bet a lot of moms are saying, "I told you so," right about now. Rightfully so! Pop that cork and enjoy that glass of vino, Mom, because you deserve it.
