Apple Cider Donuts

An easy-prep apple syrup is the simple secret to these light-as-air treats that’ll melt in your mouth

Ingredients

  • 2½ cups refrigerated apple cider
  • 3½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1¾ cups sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In large bowl, combine flour, ¾ cup sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and ¼ tsp. salt. In separate bowl, whisk together cooled syrup, butter and egg; stir into flour mixture. Using hands, knead until dough forms. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface. Roll out to ½” thick. Using 2½” and 1″ round cutters, cut out donuts and centers, reshaping scraps as needed.
