When it comes to online dating, there's a time and place for that. And as one woman has pointed out--a professional social networking site is neither the time nor the place.
Abigail McAlipne received a message on LinkedIn from a man saying, "You are beautiful."

Considering LinkedIn is a place to connect with colleagues and find potential jobs, she wasn't amused by the message.
So McAlipne responded, "This is a professional website, please act like a professional."
"A simple 'thank you' would have sufficed, hunni," the man replied. "Be more nice. This is a nice website for nice people."
After explaining to him her reason why she didn't appreciate his comments, she decided to post a very public warning to the rest of her connections to not use the network like a dating site. And she did not mince her words.
She wrote, "I don’t invite these comments with my profile or my work. I don’t care if it’s blunt, it’s not what LinkedIn is for. It’s becoming far too common."

While some, like the man who originally messaged her, were critical of her response, she got a lot of positive feedback on her words, too.
And considering her post got liked more than 22,500 times, she certainly can't be the only one who feels this way.
