Recycling scraps cut from too-small kiddie clothes into a hand-stitched quilt is such a sweet tradition. For a low-stress way to create the same magic: We clipped heart shapes out of favorite old pj's and used iron-on adhesive to attach them to pillowcases. Kids are sure to love these made-for-you pillows—to snuggle with on the sofa, curl up on a patio chair and even make long car trips cozy!
What you’ll need:
One 4” square of cardstock
Eight 3”-wide squares (cut out of old clothing)
Sheets of iron-on fusible web
One standard pillowcase
Trace a 3"-wide heart onto the cardstock and cut out. (To find these shapes online, search “heart template.”) Then trace your cardstock heart onto each 3" fabric square and cut out with the pinking shears. Next, cut out eight matching heart shapes from the fusible web and use it to iron two rows of fabric hearts onto the front of the pillowcase.
