You wouldn't expect a bear--in this case, a 1500-pound Alaskan grizzly bear--to be so playful, especially with a human. But after watching this video, you'll see that under the right circumstances, these furry giants can be as cuddly as dogs.
The bear's name is Jimbo, and he is one of 10 bears at the Orphaned Wildlife Center, a New York animal sanctuary that cares for orphaned baby critters before releasing them into the wild. The grizzly has lived with Jim Kowalczik, co-founder of the sanctuary along with his wife, since he was a cub 21 years ago.
And that explains why Jim and Jimbo can play so nicely together--and give new meaning to the term "bear hugs!"
Someone asked for video of Jim and Jimbo playing. I found this on my phone! :)Posted by Orphaned Wildlife Center on Saturday, January 2, 2016
