Here’s a low-cost and lovely way to add a glimmering greeting to your walkway or front porch: An artic bowl that amplifies the glow from a single pillar candle’s flame while presenting and preserving flowers during the winter months.
What you’ll need:
2 1/2 qt. freezer-safe glass or ceramic mixing bowl
1 qt. freezer-safe glass or ceramic mixing bowl
4" rock (or 2 cups of gravel)
6 stems of spray roses
3"-tall pillar candle
*To do: *Fill the large mixing bowl a quarter of the way with water and freeze, then center the smaller bowl on top of the larger bowl’s ice. (Weigh the smaller bowl down with the rock or cups of gravel.) Next, fill the larger bowl halfway with water (so it surrounds the smaller bowl) and sprinkle rose sprigs into the water. Freeze in your freezer or outside. Use the warmth of your hands to release the bowls from the ice, then place the pillar candle in the center of the ice bowl.
