Typically when a celebrity dons a fat suit we expect them to look like Monica from Friends or Gwyneth Paltrow in Shallow Hal. You know, comical. But every so often, the transformation is believable enough that fans can't even tell! From This Is Us' Chris Sullivan Harry Potter's Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom wasn't overweight in real life??), at least eleven different stars have worn extra padding in their costumes without anyone noticing.
Since Chrissy Metz and her television co-star's size is a main plot line on the show, fans were outraged at first when they realized that only one of the stars even struggled with their weight in real life. However, Chrissy was quick to come to Chris' defense when the news broke, reassuring viewers that he was the best guy for the role by a long shot.

“We tested a lot of gentlemen who were bigger, and I get it — people think the authenticity is kind of ruined by that,” she has said. “But Chris has been heavier, so I think he understands the plight of being overweight. People wear prosthetics all the time — it’s just weight as opposed to, like, a nose or a chin. It’s just kind of the name of the game.”
We love Chris in his role, so we're definitely not about to complain. But when you see the side-by-side shots, it is a pretty stark difference. The same goes for the 10 other stars who added a little — or a lot — of extra padding to their costumes on screen. While some did it because the character was naturally heavier than they are, others wore fat suits to make up for weight that they'd lost in real life. So who else need a little extra help filling out their outfit?
