Good news for those of us who like to unwind with a cocktail: Women who consume one or two drinks a day are 30 percent less likely to become overweight than those who don’t drink at all, say researchers at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. What's more, enjoying a drink with dinner slows the release of blood sugar into the small intestine — an effect that was shown in one study to reduce the postmeal blood-sugar fluctuations that trigger energy crashes, cravings and fat storage by up to 37 percent. Cheers!
Here’s the simple recipe:
1.5 oz. gin
1 oz. blue curaçao
1 oz. coconut rum
A squeeze of fresh lime
Shake well and strain into a glass. Garnish with starfruit slice.
