Slow-Cooker Pulled Pork Sandwiches

French onion soup is the secret ingredient that gives this hearty favorite plenty of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 (3 lb.) boneless pork shoulder roast
  • 1½ tsp. garlic powder
  • 1½ tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1 (10.5 oz.) can condensed French onion soup
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 4 cups prepared coleslaw
  • 12 rolls, split

Instructions

  1. Spread onion in bottom of 4-qt. slow cooker; top with pork. Sprinkle with garlic powder and paprika; top with undiluted soup, tomato paste, vinegar and brown sugar. Cover; cook on high until pork is very tender, about 6½ hrs.
  2. Transfer pork to large bowl, leaving juices in slow cooker. With two forks, shred pork. Stir in half of juices from cooker. Divide coleslaw, then pork, evenly among rolls. If desired, serve with remaining juices from cooker.
