The One Sign of Aging Jennifer Aniston Wants to Avoid After Turning 50

Jennifer Aniston’s character on Friends might have dreaded getting older (anyone else remember Rachel breaking down in tears over Chandler’s birthday card in “The One Where They All Turn Thirty?”), but the actress is taking her own age in stride. After turning 50 earlier this year, she’s still stunning — and focused on her crushing it with her career.

Aniston opened up to InStyle about how she really felt after hitting the big 5-0. “Fifty was the first time I thought, ‘Well, that number,’” Aniston said, referring to the stigma around the milestone. “I don’t know what it is because I don’t feel any different. Things aren’t shutting down in any way. I feel physically incredible.” She also explained that she isn’t a fan of praising someone by saying, “You look amazing for your age.” Hey, we don’t blame her. After all, we can all look and feel our best whether we’re 20, 50, or 90!

She did admit one sign of aging she hopes to avoid, though. “I’m not gonna lie — I don’t want gray hair.” Although we’re fans of natural gray strands, we won’t criticize the actress or anyone else who’d rather keep dyeing their locks. Either way, it’s about what makes each of us feel the most comfortable and confident.

Aniston is currently co-starring and co-producing the Morning Show, which will air on Apple TV in November, with her friend Reese Witherspoon. As you might guess from the title, the series is based on a fictional morning news program co-hosted by Aniston’s character, Alex Levy. “Alex’s sell-by date expired long ago, and she’s trying to stay relevant,” Aniston explained to the magazine. That’s certainly a relatable problem for a lot of women no matter what your career might be. However, much like Aniston herself, we already get the sense that her character isn’t going to crumble to pressures quite so easily — and we can’t wait to watch it unfold.

Hopefully more women will feel inspired to embrace their age with the same attitude as Aniston!
