Almost two months after marrying his wife Alizée Thevenet, James Middleton has returned to social media with a beautiful post reflecting on married life. The younger brother of Kate Middleton and his bride wed in the French village of Bormes-les-Mimosas on the Côte d’Azur after having to rearrange their nuptials twice due to the pandemic, and have kept mostly quiet since their big day in September.
Taking to Instagram, James shared a selfie with one of his beloved dogs alongside a message about enjoying his new life with Alizée. “And we’re back 🎉 🐾 I’ve been so immersed in embracing & enjoying the first few months of being with my new wife ❤️ I’ve realised I have unintentionally taken a social detox… which I suppose is no bad thing… 🤔,” he wrote. “BUT we are back — hope you don’t mind 🐾.”
James continued: “I highly recommend taking a social media detox from time to time — in fact I believe the saying is disconnect to reconnect. Over the last few months many of you have reached out…and thank you for checking up on me it means a lot 🙏😊.”
James’ comment section was quickly flooded with messages congratulating him for taking a break while welcoming him back. One follower wrote, “I’m happy for you that you could enjoy the time with your wife. But I’m also happy that you are back 🙌😊.”
Another shared, “Welcome back, you did right and really great, sometimes making a break to enjoy real life is truly great too 👏👏👏👏.”
The couple’s low-key wedding captured the attention and hearts of royal watchers, who were impressed by their down-to-earth approach. Alizée even wore her mother-in-law, Carole Middleton’s wedding dress, a touching choice from the French financial analyst.
James broke the news on his Instagram by sharing a sunny photo of him and his new wife beaming at the camera.
“Mr & Mrs Middleton ❤️ 🇬🇧 🇫🇷” he captioned the selfie, which showed off Alizée’s unique engagement ring. “Yesterday I married the love of my life surrounded by family, friends and of course a few dogs in the beautiful village or Bormes-les-Mimosas. Words cannot describe how happy I am ❤️”
According to reports, the wedding was attended by Kate, sister Pippa Middleton, and their parents Carole and Michael Middleton.
