In a review of weight-loss methods published in the journal _Nutrition & Diabetes, _Australian researchers tracked the progress of 163 dieting women; half used weekly shopping lists and half didn’t. After 6 months, the list users had dropped an average of 27 pounds—9 more than women who didn’t use lists.
