New reports straight out of London have us strutting to the sound of wedding bells!
According to TheDailyStar.co.uk, Prince Harry will follow in his big brother's footsteps when it comes to popping the question.
Sources close to the royal family claim he has given Crown jeweler Harry Collins the Delhi Durbar Emerald Choker, which belonged to Prince Harry's late mother, to re-work into a sparkler for Meghan.
"After Diana died, the boys both chose a keepsake from Kensington Palace when they moved to Charles’ rooms in St James’s Palace," an insider told the British publication.
“William picked his mom’s Cartier watch, and Harry picked her sapphire and diamond engagement ring. But they had an agreement that whoever got engaged first would have Diana’s ring--and of course that was William and Kate."
“Harry wants the same sentiment when he proposes to Meghan, so he is working with the jewelers to design something incredible.”
Princess Diana simply adored the necklace. Many astute royal watchers will remember the moment she famously donned the choker as a headband during her visit to Melbourne with Prince Charles back in 1985.
Prince Harry has never shied away from talking about how much he wants to make his mother proud.
Last year, just before he and Meghan started dating, he admitted on Good Morning America: “I hope she’s looking down, you know, with tears in her eyes, being incredibly proud of what we’ve established. I’m sure she’s longing for me to have kids so she can be a grandmother again.”
With that sentiment in mind, it makes complete sense that the 33-year-old wants Princess Diana involved in one of the biggest moments in his life.
“For Harry, like William before him, using his mother’s gems means the two loves of his life will forever be linked," Harry's pal explained to the Daily Star.
And the royal insider predicts Harry will go on bended knee on his mom's birthday, July 1.
Harry and Meghan are certainly gangbusters in love.
The pair are fresh from their romantic vacation to Jamaica where they celebrated Harry’s best friend Tom “Skippy” Inskip's wedding.
“She was a total hit with all of Skippy and Harry’s pals, and they cuddled affectionately when out of the camera’s eye."
“Harry even showed off his limbo techniques and Meghan was very impressed. They are totally relaxed in one another’s company. They goof about and play pranks," a witness added.
Many royal fans were hoping that Meghan would be Harry's date to Pippa Middleton's May wedding to James Matthews.
The author may be marrying a billionaire, but Duchess Catherine's little sister is reportedly planning a very low-key affair.
The reception will be at the Middleton's country manor, and in a bid to keep numbers down, she is reportedly enforcing a “no ring, no bring” policy, encouraging guests to only bring spouses or fiancés.
Fingers crossed they make an exception for Meghan!
