Sweet dumpling squash are carved into peekaboo cauldrons—perfect to scare up some fun on any Halloween tabletop.
What you’ll need for each pop-top squash:
1 sweet dumpling squash
1 sharp serrated knife
1 spoon (for scooping out the squash)
1 handful of black jelly beans
1 cookie pop (or lollipop)
3 chrysanthemum stems (or twigs or wood skewers) cut to 3" lengths
To do: Slice the top off the squash using the serrated knife, then scoop out the center using the spoon. Fill the squash “bowls” with the jelly beans and press the lollipop cookie or candy into the center. Finish by pressing the stems, twigs or skewers into the rim of the squash (as shown) and gently set the lids on top. Success secret: If the squash is rolling or tipping over, empty it and slice a small sliver off of the bottom to level the base.
