The Strawberry Tea at Wendy’s is loaded with 16 grams of sugar, thanks to the high fructose corn syrup and table sugar in the strawberry puree. For a healthier sip, opt for the Starbucks Shaken Iced Unsweetened Passion Tea. Infused with hibiscus, apple and lemongrass, this brew has a refreshing sweetness without any added sugar.
The California Turkey Club at Chili’s contains 15 grams of sugar, courtesy of the whole-wheat Texas toast and fixings. Head to Boston Market for a half of a Hand Carved Toasted Turkey Carver sandwich instead. With only 2 grams of sugar from the tomato and mayo, this hearty sandwich is big on flavor but easy on your waistline.
The creamy Southwest dressing and cilantro-lime glaze on the McDonald’s Premium Southwest Salad contain 8 grams of sugar – add in the veggies and you’re up to 15 grams. A better bet: Taco Bell’s Cantina Power Bowl with Chicken. This salad is piled high with beans, cheese, rice and veggies – all for just 3 grams of sugar total.
