Fall is here, and it has nothing to do with the weather or Labor Day. It’s official because the Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks is back.
The PSL claimed the spotlight early this year with the java giant’s announcement that the signature syrup had been reformulated to finally include its namesake ingredient: pumpkin. But Starbucks also launched two other delicious ways to celebrate the season, and they’re the perfect coffee pairing--even if you prefer a bone-dry capp to a PSL.
New to the menu this fall are the Pumpkin Scone and Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin. Though the scone, like the original version of the latte, lacks actual pumpkin, it makes up for it with plenty of the sweet spice blend you love this time of year. And Starbucks improves upon the basic pumpkin muffin with a dollop of cream cheese filling and a sprinkling of caramelized pumpkin seeds.
Skip the pumpkin unless it's in pie form? Don’t worry; they made an addition to the menu for you, too. The new Washington Apple Pound Cake will transport you to the orchard, no traveling required. And in what might be the sweetest trick of the season, their new pumpkin-shaped iced sugar cookie is actually spiked with lemon.
Pair your go-to drink order with any of these new offerings for a sweet start to the day, rich in classic autumn flavors.
