Ever hoped for more HomeGoods in your life? Your wish is granted, as HomeSense, the new spinoff chain from our beloved HomeGoods, is set to hit the U.S. in just a few weeks. Announced by parent company TJX Cos. back in March, the news has had fans of the cult favorite — and yes, we count ourselves among that bunch — eagerly awaiting all the exciting details of this new store. Now, we’ve finally gotten a few hints at what’s to come our way very soon.

What’s the Difference Between HomeSense and HomeGoods?

Although similar to HomeGoods in theory, HomeSense — which is also the name of a TJX chain in Europe and Canada — will offer expanded furniture, lighting, art, and gifting departments, the company confirmed with Setting up a brand new home or apartment? Some of the must-have big-ticket items you probably need (think sofas, chandeliers, dining chairs, and bar stools) will be in stock, plus some of the more playful, less-necessary-but-so-cool extras like pouf chairs or foosball tables.

Signature, stylish odds and ends to decorate your space that HomeGoods fans know and love — zebra vases and clocks shaped like airplanes, anyone? — will be part of the fun selection as well.

In terms of brand-new features, each branch will have a “General Store” area, stocked with cleaning and home improvement essentials like hardware, mailboxes, and storage cubbies. Even cooler, the layout of the store will closely mimic how the items would be arranged in your actual home, including wall-mounted artwork and fully-decorated sample room concepts (sort of like how Ikea is set up) designed to showcase products and inspire you to transform and beautify your own space.

If it sounds like HomeSense is trying to be your one-stop-shop for all things home-related, well, you seem to be on the right track. Essentially, HomeSense sounds like HomeGoods on steroids —a fact which has HomeGoods fans on the edge of their seats, waiting for a location to open near them so they can start shopping!

Where Are HomeSense Stores?

Sadly, only a few U.S. cities will get HomeSense stores at first. The inaugural shop is opening in Framingham, MA, on Aug. 17, and three more locations are to open before the end of the year: in East Hanover, NJ, Ocean Township, NJ, and Westwood, MA. If your area didn’t make the list, don’t fret — we have a feeling this chain is going to be a mega-hit, and that more locations will open up soon.

“We are excited to bring consumers an expanded selection of quality merchandise at incredible prices, along with a new shopping experience in which they can discover and curate the home of their dreams,” said HomeGoods and HomeSense president John Ricciuti in a press release.

Sounds like a dream come true to us!
