We love our ballet shoes just as much as the next gal — minus the pain that can come along with them. While they may not have the same bad rap, as say, a pair of sky-high heels, a pair of ill-fitting flats can also wreak havoc on your feet. Luckily, that won’t be a problem with Hush Puppies’ newly released PerfectFit flats ($99.95, Hush Puppies).

These aptly-named PerfectFit Kendall ballet slippers are made with a one-of-a-kind stretch leather that will actually form to your foot for the best fit imaginable. They’re also constructed with less seams than your average flat, allowing for less irritation and a smoother feel.

That’s good news, since Chicago-based podiatrist Dr. Megan Leahy, D.P.M., told Vogue in 2015 that flat shoes can be just as troublesome as their higher-heeled sisters. “There are a lot of diagnoses attributed to heels, but there are just as many caused by flats,” she said.

Problems can arise in particular when a toe is too tight, which can throw off the distribution of pressure in your step or inflame nerves. A lack of arch support and padding can also cause your plantar fasica (the band of tissue that runs the length of your foot) to tear.

In addition to the extra give they provide around your foot with their über-flexible leather, the Hush Puppies Kendall features a polyurethane footbed that allows it to absorb and redistribute bounce back into each and every step. It also has a rubber outsole for more protection, traction, and durability.

Most importantly, however? The advanced leather will mean no more blisters — a godsend when it comes to a ballet flat.

You can choose from seven different colors (we’re partial to the bold red and springy yellow). Not into super low flats? Check out the brand’s slightly more mature Wren loafers ($99.95), which have all of the same great technology (albeit in suede), plus a low, stacked heel.
