‘Third Watch’ Cast: Where Are They Now?

Television history is marked by numerous iconic shows that captivated audiences with their compelling storytelling and memorable characters. Among these, the Third Watch cast stands out as a groundbreaking series that offered a unique perspective on the lives of first responders in New York City.

Created by John Wells and Edward Allen Bernero, Third Watch aired from 1999 to 2005, spanning six seasons and leaving a lasting impact on viewers. At the heart of its success were the talented actors who brought the characters to life, each contributing to the show’s emotional depth and authenticity.

Did you know? The series was called Third Watch because it focused on the exploits of a group of police officers, firefighters and paramedics in the fictional 55th Precinct and Fire Station 55, whose shifts fall between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m., aka the third watch.

Michael Beach as Monte “Doc” Parker Third Watch Cast

Born on October 30, 1963, in Roxbury, Massachusetts, Michael Beach played the character of Monte “Doc” Parker, a seasoned paramedic grappling with personal and professional challenges.

Beach graduated from the prestigious Juilliard School of Drama in New York City. Ironically, he auditioned for the role of Dr. Peter Benton in ER, a role won by old friend and Juilliard classmate, Eriq La Salle. Instead, Beach played the recurring role of Al Boulet on the show.

Beach was also in the movies Waiting to Exhale (1995) and Soul Food (1997).

After the Third Watch cast, Beach continued to appear in movies including No Postage Necessary (2017), Aquaman (2018) and Inheritance (2020). He also appeared in several hit series, including Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (Beach played Detective Murphy) and Mayor of Kingstown.

Most recently Beach has been in Kingdom Business (2022-23) and the movies God’s Grace (2023) and I’ll Be Right There (2023).

Molly Price as Faith Yokas

Born December 15, 1966, in North Plainfield, New Jersey, Molly Price played the role of Faith Yokas, an NYPD officer balancing the demands of her job with her role as a wife and mother.

Before the Third Watch cast, Price gained recognition for her roles in the series Bless This House and in the movies Ties to Rachel and Risk.

After Third Watch, Price continued to appear in several series including Bionic Woman, The Knick, Feud and Almost Family.

She also appeared in several movies including The Devil you Know (2013) and God’s Pocket (2014).

Most recently she had a guest appearance on the show And Just Like That.

Anthony Ruivivar as Carlos Nieto Third Watch Cast

Born November 4, 1970, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Anthony Ruivivar played the role of Carlos Nieto, a dedicated paramedic with a troubled past and a desire for redemption.

Prior to that role, Ruivivar appeared in several movies including Race the Sun (1996), In & Out (1997) and Speed of Life (1999). He also appeared in several TV shows including All My Children and Law & Order.

Post Third Watch cast, he’s been a regular on several series including The Whole Truth (2010-2012), Beware the Batman (2013-2014), Banshee (2013-2015) and Turner and Hooch (2021).

He’s also appeared in several movies including Junction (2012), Mad God (2021) and Immanence (2022).

Most recently, he’s appeared in NCIS: Hawai’i (2022-23).

Kim Raver as Kim Zambrano

Born on March 15, 1969, in New York City, Kim Raver played the role of Kim Zambrano, a skilled paramedic dealing with personal struggles while saving lives on the streets of New York.

Prior to the Third Watch cast, Raver appeared in Sesame Street as a child. She also appeared in several commercials including a Visa ad (that brought her to Venice) and an ad for Jeep. Her big acting break was when she performed in the Broadway play Holiday alongside Laura Linney.

After five seasons on Third Watch, Raver left for a role on 24 (2001). From there, she appeared in Lipstick Jungle (2008) alongside Brooke Shields.  In addition to TV, she’s also appeared in several movies including Night at the Museum (2006) and Revolution (2012).

Most recently, she’s been a regular cast member of Grey’s Anatomy playing the role of Dr. Teddy Altman. She was also in the movie The Braid (2023).

She has been married to Manu Boyer since July 7, 2000 and they have two children.

Coby Bell as Tyrone “Ty” Davis Third Watch Cast

Born May 11, 1975, in Orange County, California, Coby Bell played the role of Tyrone “Ty” Davis Jr., an ambitious rookie cop navigating the challenges of law enforcement in a turbulent city.

Prior to the Third Watch cast, Bell had appearances in several shows including ER, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and L.A. Doctors.

After Third Watch, he continued to have a success television career. Bell was a regular on The Game (2006-2015) playing the role of Jason Pitts. He was also a regular on Burn Notice (2010-2013), playing the part of Jesse Porter. Next, he played the role of Jace Turner on The Gifted (2017-2019). Most recently he played the role of Larry James in Walker (2021-2023).

In his personal life, Bell is married to actress Aviss Pinkney-Bell, and they have four children.

Skipp Sudduth as John “Sully” Sullivan

Born August 23, 1956, in Barnstable, Massachusetts, Skipp Sudduth played the role of John “Sully” Sullivan, a seasoned NYPD officer grappling with personal demons while striving to uphold justice.

Prior to the Third Watch cast, Sudduth appeared in films like Money Train and Ronin.

After his break-out role on Third Watch, Sudduth continued to appear in TV shows including Quarry (2016) and Chicago P.D. (2017), Madam Secretary (2017-2019) and City on a Hill (2022).
