Marlee Matlin Relies on This $8 Drugstore Face Wash for Glowing Skin

It’s hard to say which shines brighter: Marlee Matlin’s charming smile or her flawless skin. The Oscar-winning actress spoke with us about how she maintains her glow from the inside out — including her go-to budget-friendly face wash and surprising stress-reliever.

Matlin uses Cetaphil to wash her face, and she makes sure to do it every morning and night. “I can’t start my day or go to bed without it,” she tells us. “Even if I fall asleep before washing, I will wake up and do it. Always have, always will.” That kind of dedication to a simple skincare habit clearly pays off! And we love that it’s something we can all easily pick up on our next trip to the store (Buy at Walmart, $7.97).

Matlin also admitted that she’s blessed with good genes. “My family has good skin,” she says. “Yesterday when I saw my mom, her hands were so soft that I put them up to my face and she said ‘soft.’ It was a sweet moment.”

The LA-based actress says it can be stressful when she’s away from her 90-year-old mother, who lives in Chicago and has dementia. “I’m blessed to have two brothers who live by her and make sure she has what she needs,” she explains. “They keep me in the loop and we make a good team.”

Still, it was difficult for Matlin to not be there in person for so long during the pandemic. Thankfully, along with the support of her family and four kids, she tells us she often relies on another surprising de-stresser: cleaning.

“It’s amazing how good for my soul cleaning can be,” she says. “I know a lot of people dread chores, but it’s one of my favorite ways to put things in perspective. When I’m mulling over a decision we have to make for mom, pushing around the vacuum helps me think it through. It really gives me time to recharge — plus my house winds up looking great!”
