Tamela Mann Shares the $1 Kitchen Staple She Uses for Flawless, Glowing Skin

Tamela Mann is a busy woman! Whether she’s singing gospel, acting on TV, managing her fashion line, or chasing after her 10 grandkids, there’s not much time left to fuss about things like pricey beauty products. So, we aren’t too surprised to learn she keeps her skincare routine simple with a budget-friendly kitchen staple — that also happens to make her look flawless.

Mann shared her beauty routine with Woman’s World while discussing the key to living her best life (including how she lost 100 pounds) in the latest issue of our print magazine (buy on newsstands now or on Amazon, $59.60 for a year’s subscription).

“My mother-in-law gave me this great beauty tip,” Mann tells us. “I clean my face with distilled vinegar.” Yep, the cheap, multipurpose liquid (Buy at Walmart, $1.27) most of us already have in our pantry is the 54-year-old’s secret weapon for glowing skin! She said she follows it up by moisturizing with another low-cost beauty essential: Vaseline (Buy at Walmart, $4.14).

But before you go splashing vinegar all over your face, experts recommend diluting it with water (at least a 2:1 ratio) to avoid irritation and dryness. The vinegar should work thanks to its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. It can also be used as just a spot treatment on blemishes and help tighten pores for an overall smoother appearance.

When it comes to makeup, Mann tells us she always buys her eyeliner at the drugstore rather than wasting money on expensive brands. “It works just as good and for a great price.” She also shared one last helpful tip that won’t cost a dime: “Before you go out in public, go to a mirror and check your nose — and make sure your breath is straight fresh!”

Be sure to pick up a copy of our print magazine for more of Mann’s advice and learn how she revved up her metabolism after 50 to lose 100 pounds!
