A cheerful floral café window panel is instantly upcycled into a table skirt that hides lots of shelf clutter and adds a touch of pretty to wash-and-fold chore time.
*What you’ll need: *
2 or 3 cup (or eye) hooks
1 half-inch wood dowel (cut at the home center to the same length as your table)
6 pieces of ribbon (cut to 18 inches)
Needle and thread
1 café curtain (or a pair) that measures about 1 1/2 times longer than your table
Optional: Grommet pliers
To do: Screw one hook into the top left and top right corners of the face of your table. Then create a low-cost custom curtain rod by sliding the wood dowel through the hooks. (Note: If your table is more than 42" long, you might need to use another hook in the center to keep the rod from sagging.) Fold the ribbons in half and evenly space them along the top of your café. Then stitch them in place to use as ties to hang the curtain from the rod (or string ribbons through holes made with grommet pliers).
