Delilah Has Something to “Cher” With Us: Cher Is Coming Out With a Christmas Album

Worlds collide! We love Cher for hits like “Believe” and “If I Could Turn Back Time,” as well as for her roles in beloved films from Burlesque and Mamma Mia to Moonstruck and Mask, but today, the singer is taking on a new first-ever project: a Christmas album! And who better to spread the news than beloved love-song-spinning, nighttime radio host and fellow Cher fan, Delilah Rene.
For most of us today, the name “Delilah” paired with the word “radio” automatically triggers echos in our minds of her smooth voice and candid, heartfelt advice paired with romantic tunes. Delilah got her start after winning a speech contest as a teen, earning her her very own radio time slot before and after school. Since then, Delilah Rene has been the most-listened-to woman in American radio for more than 30 years and is loved for her compassion, commitment to her faith and vulnerability. Today, she hosts two podcasts: Hey, It’s Delilah and Love Someone.

And lucky for us, Delilah recently shared a stunning picture to her Instagram and Facebook alongside the Cher to spread the joyful news:
“Ok, now I’ll ‘Cher’ with you!” Delilah’s caption read. “Last week @cher announced she’d be releasing a Christmas album and I was invited to attend an intimate preview party at her gorgeous Malibu beach home! Such an incredible time with incredible people from the music and radio industry!! This Christmas we are all in for a treat!”
They quickly became dynamic duo we didn’t know we needed!
What we know about Cher’s Christmas album
The 77-year-old famed singer took to Instagram to reveal to her fans the news about her first ever Christmas album. In her first post, she sported a pair of rhinestone-bedazzled jeans on what we assume is a version of the album cover, with the caption reading, “Are you spending Christmas with me? #cherchristmas.”
Her second post had her sporting an icy blonde wig and a silver gown, with the caption reading, “Christmas already? But I’ve got nothing to wear…Link in bio 🔗 #cherchristmas”
In an interview with Good Morning Britain, Cher revealed a few key details about her upcoming album. “It’s a Cher Christmas album. It’s not your mother’s Christmas album,” she noted, adding that she is “really, really excited because there’s millions of people on it, and I’ve never had duets. I’ve never had people on any of my records.”
While we don’t know for certain who these special guests might include, fans have been speculating ever since the album was announced, and Cher herself said they were “special,” further noting, “I’m in awe of all of them.” The album is set to release on October 20th.

The Cher and Delilah connection
Delilah is said to be the queen of sappy love songs, but aside from this title, the famed radio DJ really does have an appreciation for good music.
“Some people have sayings on their wall or scriptures that are framed or Taoisms or whatever you call it that resonate as truth to them. For me a well-crafted, well-written lyric becomes like a cornerstone of truth to me,” she said to USA Today. With this sentiment in mind, there’s no wonder why the radio host and the singer’s paths have crossed.
While much remains unknown about the details of Cher’s upcoming Christmas album, one thing is for certain: we can’t wait to “Cher” this holiday season with the music icon — and we’re sure to hear a song or two on Delilah’s radio show!
