Ooey-Gooey Sausage Pita Pizzas Recipe is Better Than Takeout
These delicious pizzas are easy to make, thanks to convenient store-bought pita bread and sun-dried tomato pesto
There’s no need to order out for pizza tonight. Instead, save money and whip up this restaurant-worthy sausage pita pizzas recipe at home. It has all the cheesy goodness you love, and it’s healthier, too.
Rather than making pizza crust, we use pita bread to create an easy and time-saving version. It crisps up in the oven and is perfect for holding sauce, cheese, and big chunks of Italian sausage. In place of plain tomato sauce, we give our pizza a fun twist with sun-dried tomato pesto, which adds even more zingy flavor. Topped with roasted peppers, zesty red onions, and a mix of Italian cheeses, this hearty individual-size pie will satisfy any pizza craving.
