Melora Hardin Swears By This $5 Drugstore Staple to Melt Stress Away

Melora Hardin may be known for playing characters who can seem a bit intense (like walking on a treadmill in heels on The Bold Type), but she knows how to wind down when she’s off the clock.

“I’ll treat myself to a relaxing soak with epsom salts,” Hardin tells us. “The fresh, soothing aroma and warm water melts away stress!” The actress says she loves using Dr. Teals Soothe & Sleep with Lavender Epsom Salts (Buy at Walmart, $4.87). Unwinding with this drugstore staple can also help lower blood pressure — and sprinkling it in with your shampoo can revive thinning locks!

Hardin shared her budget-friendly relaxation technique while discussing all of her go-to stress remedies in our latest print magazine (buy on newsstands now or on Amazon, $16.97 for a year’s subscription).

“I swear by meditating, even if it’s just for 10 minutes,” she adds. “I’m a big believer that in order to be the best wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, etc., you have to take care of yourself, too. If you’re not at your best, you can’t give your best to those you hold so dear.” We couldn’t agree more!

The actress also says she relies on a simple beauty tip for her glowing skin. “Always wash your face morning and night, whether you’ve worn makeup that day, feel too tired to move, or think your face is clean because you enjoyed a relaxing day of lounging,” Hardin explains. “Then, after washing your face, splash your face with very warm, almost hot, water 10 times, and then splash with cold water 10 times. You feel so clean and fresh, plus it’s great to take those few minutes to provide self care.”

Judging by the 53-year-old’s flawless complexion, this splashing routine clearly pays off! Be sure to pick up a copy of our print magazine for even more easy and effective tips from Hardin.
