Harry and Meghan Will Do an Interview With Oprah

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are set to share a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey — an icon of American television, and, incidentally, one of their close friends. The pair, who made headlines across the world on Valentine’s Day after announcing they are expecting their second child, have rarely given such personal interviews — especially since stepping back from the royal family — so their chat with Oprah will be all the more intriguing.

The CBS Television Network interview will go live on Sunday, March 7. According to a statement from the network, “Winfrey will speak with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure.” “Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family.”

The Duke and Duchess have kept a low profile after relocating to a new home in Santa Barbara, California. Apart from several brief appearances for various social causes via Zoom, as well as launching their own podcast, Archewell Audio, and revealing their new umbrella foundation, also named Archewell, the world has largely been devoid of Meghan and Harry news. Surprisingly, things have certainly taken a turn this week after a very exciting pregnancy announcement and a new black-and-white image of the pair (with a baby bump to boot) on Valentine’s Day.

A spokesperson for the couple told the press: “We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.” Shortly after the announcement, Buckingham Palace released a statement sharing reactions from The Queen, Prince Charles, and other members of the royal family. “Her Majesty, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales and entire family [are] ‘delighted’ and wish them well,” the statement read. It was also confirmed the family were made aware of Meghan’s pregnancy before the public announcement was made.

As for the upcoming interview with Oprah, the pair will likely give one of their most relaxed and personal perspectives yet. A year on from quitting their roles as senior royals, settled in the dreamy California landscape and with a second child on the way, Meghan and Harry are no doubt happier than ever. That, along with the fact Oprah is a close friend of theirs — they’ll be a lot more comfortable than perhaps even Meghan’s last sit-down interview in 2017 after she and Harry got engaged. Yes, this is going to be one not to be missed – have the popcorn prepped!
