Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are Expecting Their Second Child
Archie is going to be a big brother!
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have announced they are expecting their second child. The happy couple shared the sweet news in a press release along with a new black and white photo of the two gazing at each other lovingly.
“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother,” said a spokesperson for Harry and Meghan. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”
The touching photo was taken by the couple’s longtime friend, photographer Misan Harriman, who shared it along with a congratulatory message on Twitter.
The happy news comes just months after Meghan shared in a New York Times Op-Ed that she had suffered a miscarriage last July. She described the devastation of watching “my husband’s heart break as he tried to hold the shattered pieces of mine”.
If you want to cry even more tears, the couple’s baby announcement comes 37 years to the day that Princess Diana announced she was pregnant with Harry.
Last year, the Duke and Duchess made headlines worldwide when they decided to step back from their senior roles in the British Royal Family to pave their own way financially and philanthropically. They have since relocated to California, where they continue to focus on charity work while raising son Archie, who will be two in May.
We’ve had no word yet on Meghan’s due date, but there’s no doubt “royal watchers” will have a few exciting months ahead as we wait for the news (and hopefully more bump pics!).
