This 9-Day Liver Detox Will Help You Shed Pounds and Heal from the Inside Out

Flush fat from your liver and watch the weight fall off.

Like all of Anthony William’s work, the regimen used — found in the new Medical Medium Cleanse to Heal (Buy on Amazon, $16.99) — is based largely on his remarkable intuition. William says he was a boy when he first began to sense which foods could help sick. people heal. He gave advice that was so effective, word spread and strangers began seeking him out; he’s been sharing his unique spin on plant-based eating ever since.

Decades ago, William was drawn to a style of eating experts now say is the only scientifically proven way to reverse heart disease while also speeding metabolism, reversing diabetes and triggering a host of health benefits. And countless folks insist William’s approach leaves other plant-based plans in the dust.

“Anthony’s gift has made him a conduit for information that is. light years ahead of where science is today,” insists Christiane Northrup, M.D., author of the landmark health guide Women’s
Bodies, Women’s Wisdom

Transformation With Ease

Our favorite part of William’s latest book is his simplified cleanse, which makes it a cinch to try his strategy. The gist: Eat your fill of fruits and veggies that are naturally low in fat, rounding out
meals with oats, millet, herbs, spices and honey. Certain foods like celery juice, berries, apples, and lemon are
recommended daily.

William says there are many ways this cleanse works to reboot the body, but its benefit to our livers is especially key. “For most people, the liver has become so overburdened by its role in processing problematic foods and toxins that it is no longer able to perform over 2,000 critical functions — many of them yet to be discovered,” he shares. Fatigue, weight gain, diabetes, and heart trouble are just a few of the ailments linked to a sluggish liver, which stalls metabolism and releases damaging inflammatory compounds into our systems.

William’s detox eliminates liver-clogging foods like fatty meat and white flour. Again, science is catching up with him: One recent study found that for every serving of fatty meat or refined
grains we replace with whole plant foods, risk of liver issues falls up to 13 percent.

On top of that, William adds, nutrients in his cleanse quickly heal and reverse existing damage. For example, “wild blueberries contain dozens of antioxidants that have the ability to grab on to troublemaking substances and get them out of the liver in a way
that most other healing foods cannot.” Meanwhile, special “cluster salts” released when we juice celery provide countless
benefits, including “purging excess fat from the liver.”

It’s all so powerful that “common results in just nine days include
increased energy, improved digestion and less bloating, reduced brain fog, reduced anxiety, fewer headaches, improving skin conditions and feeling years younger,” says William.

And then there’s the weight loss. Folks shed up to 15 pounds in nine days and 100 pounds in five months. “There is so much
more to safeguarding health and healing than we know,” says William. “And yet there is so much more simplicity to it than most of us realize.”

The Liver-Detox Plan

During this cleanse, enjoy unlimited veggies, fruit, herbs, spices, oats and millet. Stick to low-fat plant foods, a trick that William says jump-starts fat burning in the liver. Aim to eat breakfast 15 to 30 minutes after your morning juice. Get tips on making celery
