There’s nothing I dread more than having to moisturize after a shower. Seriously, I’m already tensing up at the thought of slapping ice-cold goop on my shivering body: a real conundrum indeed, since you can’t get really get away with not hydrating your skin in the winter. Sure, you can hide any unsightly flaky patches of skin under a sweater, but you can’t escape the constant itching and burning of dry skin. Full-body moisture is a must! Rather than being doomed to a life of goosepimples, I did what any smart woman would do: I invested in Conair’s True Glow heated lotion dispenser ($24.99, Amazon) to ensure I’d never have to suffer through another icy rubdown again.
To use it, all you need do is add a bottle of your favorite body moisturizer into the machine, hit a button, and wait a few minutes for a toasty pump of lotion. (You can microwave your lotion for the same effect, but a lotion warmer is far less mess!)
The real secret, however, is to get everything set up before you get into the shower or bath. Then, when you’re almost done, you hit the start button on the lotion warmer. This way, the moisturizer is ready to go by the time you dry off.
Conair’s version has a particularly special design: Only the pump gets warm, so you don’t have to worry about the rest of the lotion spoiling in the heat.
Not convinced? This rave review from a buyer should seal the deal: “My husband ordered this for my baby and I, [as] we both deal with the eczema so I’m constantly applying lotion. … It’s so nice to take the baby out of the bath and have nice warm lotion to put on her, she used to squirm when I’d put cold lotion on her, now she relaxes so much when I apply it. I’ve noticed that the warm lotion also absorbs better and seems more moisturizing. It’s really a great product that I didn’t know I needed until I started using it.”
I, for one, can’t think of a better Valentine’s Day present. You may want to buy one for yourself, too!
