Kelly Clarkson Just Announced a Major Career Change and We’re So Happy for Her!

Tags:

We all loved singer Kelly Clarkson when she won American Idol back in 2002, but after releasing a slew of albums for more than a decade, the country star has retreated from the limelight a bit to live life as a married woman and a mother.

Now, it sounds like Clarkson’s life has been through a major shake-up. According to the star herself, Clarkson has some very big news about her future plans (which you can learn about by watching the video below!).

After ABC acquired Idol, some fans hoped Clarkson would be tapped by producers for some kind of role. Obviously, that’s not the case any longer. With Simon Cowell adamantly saying that he will not join the Idol reboot and no word yet on former host Ryan Seacrest‘s potential involvement, it looks like the new version of Idol will differ greatly from it’s original casting when it was on Fox.

Today, Clarkson’s daughter, River Rose, is about to turn 3, while her son, Remington, just turned 1 year old. At only 35, the proud mama could surely have another child, but during a joking back-and-forth with friend Blake Shelton, Clarkson said there might not be any more kids in her future.

“Will you stop getting pregnant every five minutes?” Blake says to Kelly during a Facebook Live where he announced Clarkson’s new role. “I’m done having children,” Clarkson replies. While that decision is totally up to Clarkson, we can’t help thinking about how cute another kiddo would be.

Regardless, we wish Clarkson all the best in her exciting new role! She’ll do a fantastic job—we just know it!
