Confused Grandma Accidentally Texts Stranger About Thanksgiving Dinner Plans, Then Makes MORTIFYING Realization

Tags:

Jamal Hinton, a 17-year-old from Chandler, AZ, was innocently staring at his phone when he got a text from a number he didn’t recognize. The stranger had an interesting offer for him, though: An invitation to her family’s Thanksgiving dinner.

The texter, who obviously had the wrong number, was surely baffled when Hinton responded with his photo and his own text: “You’re not my grandma.” But he jokingly asked if he could have a plate, anyway–and that’s when things got truly crazy.

“Of course you can,” wrote the mystery texter, a woman named Wanda Dench from a nearby town. “That’s what grandmas do.”

Hinton’s friend posted the text exchange online, where it started to immediately go viral. Apparently people were loving the feel-good vibes put out by this hospitable grandma, whose unexpected invitation truly displays the Thanksgiving spirit.

When Hinton and Dench met face-to-face recently, it seems she invited Hinton’s entire family to this year’s Turkey Day celebration (along with her real grandchildren, of course). That’s one dinner conversation that’s sure to sparkle!
