How to Measure Your Perfect Ring Size At Home
Because we can't try them on at the store right now.
Have you found yourself indulging in online retail therapy to soothe any pandemic-induced panic? I certainly have, but when I recently stumbled upon a ring that clearly needed to live on my finger, I also realized I had no idea how to measure my ring size.
We all know things like clothing and shoe sizes off the tops of our heads, but ring measurements can be a bit trickier. I wasn’t about to let that put a damper on my spending habits (sorry, bank account), so I was glad to learn it is super easy to figure out ring sizes at home.
If you have measuring tape, it’s as simple as wrapping that around whichever finger you’re hoping to glam up. You can also use a thin strip of paper or a string to circle around your digit and mark off where it overlaps, then measure the millimeters with a ruler. For those without any sort of measuring device, check your phone’s app store for digital options.
Once you have your measurement, you can match it with one of the common US ring sizes shown below:
- Ring Size 3: 14.05 mm
- Ring Size 3.5: 14.45 mm
- Ring Size 4: 14.86 mm
- Ring Size 4.5: 15.27 mm
- Ring Size 5: 15.7 mm
