Princess Charlotte Has a Surprisingly Savory Favorite Snack

Tags:

Even if a kid isn’t a super picky eater, it’s rare they’d look twice at a bowl of olives. Princess Charlotte, on the other hand, apparently loves chowing down on the salty snack!

Kate Middleton shared this surprising tidbit back in 2019 while visiting Lavender Primary School in London. Royal reporter Rebecca English was there that day and wrote on Twitter, “The Duchess of Cambridge revealed today that her daughter, Princess Charlotte, loves olives and she encourages both her and Prince George to cook with her.”

Charlotte seems to take after her mom when it comes to the savory treat. Kate spilled about her own childhood affection for olives while chatting with young patients at Great Ormond Street Hospital in 2018. After a four-year-old told her about liking them, Kate replied, “I used to eat lots and lots of olives when I was little as well.”

It’s not the first time we’ve been a bit taken aback by Charlotte’s adventurous palate, though. While at a 2019 event held by Prince Shah Karim Al Hussaini, Aga Khan IV, in Pakistation, Kate talked about how much she loves cooking curries at home. She explained that she usually has to tone down the spice level for Prince George and Prince Louis, but added, “Charlotte is pretty good with heat.”

Although Kate didn’t clarify whether this was another trait she passed down to her daughter, it certainly didn’t come from dad Prince William. He admitted that he also loves curries, but only if it’s “not too spicy.”

Considering how feisty the young princess is, we can’t say we’re too surprised to learn Charlotte is the most adventurous eater of the bunch. We also wonder how much her sophisticated palate has grown over the years. Hopefully Kate will give us a few more insights about the whole family’s culinary quirks soon!
