The World’s Sexiest Bald Man Turns 39!

Tags:

It’s Prince William’s birthday today! Over his now 39 years he has earned many titles, but his latest is certainly the most surprising. According to a new study, the heir to the British throne has been crowned the “World’s Sexiest Bald Man.”

Unlike the titles bestowed to William by his grandmother (which would be quite awkward in this case), the new honor was based on actual scientific research. British tabloid The Sun explains that the study was carried out by Longevita, a UK cosmetic surgery company. They analyzed data from Google searches and reportedly found 17.6 million instances of Prince William being described as “sexy” on various blogs, reports, and pages.

Although we doubt this will ever be included in the birthday boy’s full name and list of titles, here’s how it would look if the royals decided to add it on:

His Royal Highness Prince William Arthur Philip Louis, Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn, Baron Carrickfergus, Royal Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, World’s Sexiest Bald Man

Kind of has a ring to it, don’t you think? Aside from William, the study included a top 10 list of bald men based on the amount of times they were mentioned online as being “sexy,” “hot,” or “attractive.” A representative told The Sun, “There are quite a few bald public figures we can feast our eyes on.” Take a look to see if you agree with the rankings:

  1. Prince William: 17.6 million mentions
  2. Mike Tyson: 8.8 million mentions
  3. Jason Statham: 7.4 million mentions
  4. Pitbull: 5.4 million mentions
  5. Michael Jordan: 5.3 million mentions
  6. Floyd Mayweather: 4.3 million mentions
  7. John Travolta: 3.8 million mentions
  8. Bruce Willis: 3.3 million mentions
  9. Dwayne Johnson: 2.6 million mentions
  10. Vin Diesel: 2.3 million mentions

Some hilarious reactions have popped up on social media with many questioning whether William truly deserves the top honor. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who took the ninth spot, chimed in on Twitter — but not to defend his own handsome baldness. Instead, he balked about how this could happen ”when Larry David clearly has a pulse?!?!” He must be a big fan of Curb Your Enthusiasm, but the data just doesn’t agree.

And, of course, this isn’t the first time attention has been brought to William’s sparse strands. He’s been known to crack jokes about it himself, telling hairdressers at a charity event, “I don’t have much hair, I can’t give you much business.” Kate also apparently pokes a little fun at her husband by calling him “Prince Baldy.” Even though he clearly has a good sense of humor about the whole thing, we’re sure it feels nice to have a much more flattering focus on his follicles this time around.
