‘Fixer Upper’ Star Joanna Gaines Addresses Rumors That She’s Leaving HGTV
What would we do without Joanna Gaines? The Fixer Upper star recently made headlines due to rumors that she was leaving the hit HGTV show in favor of pursuing a career in the beauty industry. Well, Joanna wouldn’t be the Joanna we all know and love if she wasn’t straightforward.
The mom-of-four titled a recent blog post: “Don’t believe everything you hear.” Of course, she didn’t just leave it there. She addressed the rumors that she was leaving throughout the entire post.
“We are so thankful for your support — we wouldn’t be here without you! And just in case you were wondering, YES! We are currently filming Season 5 of the show,” she wrote back in April. “No! I am not getting into the business of facial creams. And No! We are not expecting baby #5. And no worries, believing some of these stories happens to the best of us.”
According to People, the false report came from an article popping up in Facebook newsfeeds with the headline, “HGTV Nightmare: Joanna Gaines Leaves Show to Start a Cosmetic Line.” The fake article claims the star wanted to quit the home improvement show in order to promote a product called Derma Folia Renewal Anti-Aging Serum. Joanna’s rep for confirmed those claims were untrue.
However, the power duo just announced their partnership with Target on a lifestyle line available beginning in November! Joanna opened up about the project: “At the core of the Magnolia brand is the desire to make homes beautiful, but with a focus on family and practicality. We want to create spaces that families want to gather in,” she said. “We’ve always dreamed of working with a retailer to create a collection that could reach more people at a more affordable price point. Coming together with Target not only allows us to design beautiful pieces for people all over the country, it also allows us to help communities in a bigger way than we could have ever imagined.”
There’s no doubt that Chip and Joanna Gaines found fame through Fixer Upper, but unfortunately, their fame (and super busy lifestyle!) comes with a price. “So many things are happening right now and it feels like we are moving at the speed of light,” Joanna continued on her blog. “At this point in our career, we can honestly say, we’ve heard it all — from reports of us moving our family to Vegas to us having more or less children than we actually have. So remember, you can’t believe everything you read.” There you have it folks — Chip and Joanna are here to stay!
