Jennifer Garner and Glennon Doyle Were the Perfect Soccer Moms for Angel City FC — And These Fan Reactions Were So Sweet

Attention soccer moms! Actor Jennifer Garner and author Glennon Doyle just had a taste of what you do for every practice and every game, and they’re in awe.
A little background: Garner and Doyle are both investors in the Angel City Football Club, a national women’s soccer league expansion team based in Los Angeles. (Other high-profile investors include Eva Longoria, Jessica Chastain, and Christina Aguilera.) Last Saturday, Angel City FC played against San Diego Wave, so the power duo attended the game as honorary soccer moms.
A Day Out on the Soccer Pitch
Garner and Doyle dressed in high rise, light washed jeans, closed-toe boots, and black t-shirts that read, “The Official Soccer Mom.” They gave team pep talks, tied up laces, and sliced orange wedges for an after-game snack. Overall, the day looked pretty magical.
“@glennondoyle and I are proud to serve as The Soccer Moms for the warrior players of @weareangelcity FC,” Garner wrote on Instagram. “We know next to nothing about the soccer, but we know how to tie shoelaces and bows, to cheer for and love — luckily there is room for all of us — come to a game and find out!”
While Garner and Doyle made everything seem fun and easy, waving pom poms on the sidelines and handing out orange wedges after the win, they acknowledged the hard work it takes to make everything go smoothly. (Not to mention the hard work that comes afterward — hello grass stains.) “My sister Jen and I serve to honor all The Soccer Parents in the land!!!” Doyle wrote in the comments. “May you be rested. May you be hydrated. May you be well.”

Garner and Doyle’s sweet efforts didn’t go unnoticed — several celebrities and influencers chimed in with high praise for the official soccer moms.
“Why are you just the best ❤️” wrote NYC Ballet’s principal ballerina, Tyler Peck.
“Amazing!!!!!” added Amy Purdy, paralympic medalist and first ever double amputee contestant on Dancing With the Stars.
“Love this! Can we talk about how amazing are @glennondoyle‘s jeans!” said “Unwritten” and “Pocket Full of Sunshine” singer Natasha Bedingfield.
Fans had nothing but sweet words as well. “Love this so much. But I need details on your jeans,” commented one user. “Can you make ‘official soccer mom’ tees for all the moms who want to love and support anyone who needs it?” asked another.
Garner and Doyle will need to explain where they got their jeans and how we can get our hands on official soccer mom Ts. Until they do, we’ll be watching from the sidelines, cheering them on.
