For the past 25 years, Patty Bontekoe has been writing and editing health, nutrition, weight loss and women’s lifestyle content for national consumer magazines and websites. She has been an editor at First for Women since 2010, first as Senior Health Editor and currently as an Executive Editor producing content for First for Women and Woman’s World and both websites. Prior to that, she held staff editorial positions at Reader’s Digest, Redbook, Modern Bride and other national consumer publications. Her writing has appeared in numerous magazines and on several websites, including Reader’s Digest, Redbook, Prevention, Ladies’ HomeJournal, Men’s Health, Marie Claire,weightwatchers.com and The New York Daily News.She was the Multiples Blogger for AOL.com’s ParentDish site, blogging about parenting twins, triplets and higher-order multiples. Patty has also done copyediting work for various websites and companies, including Johnson & Johnson, Coca-Cola, VetStreet, BrightSpot and more. She graduated from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta and was selected as a participant in the CDC‘s Knight Public Health Journalism Boot Camp where she was given a crash course in public health reporting. An avid reader, she has volunteered her time as a member of the board of directors for her local public library since 2015. She lives in New Jersey with her husband and three children.
