Andrei Alexandrov, MD

Andrei Alexandrov, MD, is a neurologist and chair of the department of neurology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix, AZ. Prior to joining the University of Arizona’s faculty, he served as a professor and chair of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center Neurology Department.

Throughout his career, Dr. Alexandrov has made significant contributions to esteemed neurologic communities, including his role as an active elected member of the American Neurological Association, as president of the American Society of Neuroimaging and as the founding editor-in-chief of Brain and Behavior, among many others. He has published 319 original papers, 3 textbooks, 16 case reports, 163 review articles, editorials, invited publications, and book chapters. He has also presented more than 350 abstracts presented at major scientific meetings and published in refereed journals.

Dr. Alexandrov received his training in neurology, stroke and cerebrovascular ultrasound at Moscow State University in Russia, the University of Toronto, and the University of Texas in Houston.
