FORT WORTH, Texas—When people say single mothers have the tough task of being both a mom and a dad, they usually don’t mean it literally. But this single mother’s ingenious trick to get into a dads-only event at her son’s school has moms everywhere applauding her ingenuity and heartwarming enthusiasm.

In a Facebook post, Yevette Vasquez said she was dropping off her son Elijah at school when she noticed more cars than normal. She asked Elijah about the extra cars, and he said it was because the school was holding its “Donuts with Dad” event.

Vasquez immediately took Elijah home and changed into a hilarious dad outfit that included a blue button-down, baggy pants, a baseball cap, and a fake mustache.

“I know seeing other dads with their kids isn’t easy for mine, but it’s life. At least I can do whatever it takes to put a smile on that face,” she wrote.

The feedback on her Facebook post has been overwhelmingly positive from both moms and dads. This mother’s effort to make her son happy is truly inspiring!
