The country-music superstar couple, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have three kids — and now, these beautiful ladies aren’t kids anymore! After a relatively under-the-radar upbringing, Grace, 26, Maggie, 25, and Audrey, 21, are stepping out from their parents’ shadows.
“It’s inspiring to me to watch them go out on their own and do the things they do,” Tim McGraw told PEOPLE about his daughters. “We’ve raised three strong, independent, strong-minded young women. And what I’m most grateful for is just how normal our kids are and how grounded they are and how much they respect themselves and other people. It makes me feel like we’ve done a pretty decent job, especially Mom.”
Over the years, we’ve been lucky enough to get a glimpse at his three radiant daughters, whether it be on the red carpet accompanying mom and dad, or in the rare event that a father-daughter duet might take place.
The eldest McGraw daughter, Gracie, has gifted us with her musical talents over the years, our favorite moments being when we see her singing alongside her dad. In 2015, she joined him onstage to sing “Here Tonight,” a performance we’ll never forget! And in 2019, McGraw blessed our ears with a video of her singing “What Kind of Fool” by Barbara Streisand and Barry Gibb.
However, the dad of three has joked that these duets are few and far between. “I’d love to do a song with all five of us at some point. I talk about it all the time and they’re like, ‘I ain’t singing with you, Dad,’” McGraw, 56, said to Entertainment Tonight. “They’ll sing with mom, [Faith Hill] but I’m probably not up to par with the rest of them. I’m the worst singer in the family.”
With Tim and Faith’s children growing and maturing, the country music couple has had to adjust over the past few years as empty nesters — and adjust to a much quieter life without the hustle and bustle of three daughters around.
In a 2021 interview with PEOPLE, McGraw revealed, “I miss them coming in and smelling what mom’s cooking and being excited about having dinner. I miss the energy around.”
He continued, “There were times when we had 15 teenage girls in our house talking about boys and life and everything going on. We’re still a really close family; we talk all the time. But it’s difficult when your kids leave. All of a sudden they don’t need you as much anymore. And I think it’s probably more difficult for Mom.”
Despite how hard it is to see them go, McGraw and Hill feel proud of the daughters they raised, and continue to share with fans just how well their girls are doing for themselves.
