Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s First Royal Wedding Kiss Makes Us Swoon

It’s official: Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are husband and wife! Despite any drama that might have occured in the days leading up to the wedding, Eugenie and Jack’s nuptials seemed to go off without a hitch. And their sweet first kiss as a married couple was certainly the icing on top of their beautiful ceremony.

Let’s be honest: As lovely as royal weddings seem, it’s hard to remember the play-by-play years after the fact. That said, the one part we will always remember — aside from the drool-worthy royal wedding rings — is the couple’s first kiss. We can’t tell you who was part of Kate Middleton’s wedding party, but we’ll never forget how happy she looked as she locked lips with her new husband.

Though Eugenie has routinely broken royal protocol by being affectionate with Jack in public (we think it’s cute!), we haven’t seen more than a sweet peck on the cheek from the princess and her fiancé. Now that they’re married, they might be a bit bolder with their PDA — and we approve.

Of course, Eugenie isn’t the first glowing royal bride to embrace her husband after what was no doubt a very stressful wedding. Let’s take a trip down memory lane and relive some of the most unforgettable royal wedding kisses — ones that give new meaning to the phrase “You may kiss the bride.”

    The second royal wedding of 2018 was just as sweet as the first! Eugenie and Jack exchanged vows at the same church as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle — and their smooch outside St. George's Chapel was just as lovely.

    Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot in May 2018 — and the world’s most eligible bachelor was officially off the market! Outside St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, the couple shared their first kiss as husband and wife and totally melted our hearts.

  4. Queen Elizabeth Wedding Dress Kiss

    OK, so we couldn't find any photos of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip kissing on their wedding day, but that's not surprising. The queen got married back in 1947 during a time when it wouldn't have been considered proper for her to carry on a passionate display of affection after her wedding. "It is very rare for members of the royal family to show affection publicly on official engagements; it doesn't look appropriate or professional," royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said. "The queen and Prince Philip almost never embrace in public."

    That doesn't mean that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip don't love or care for each other. At Elizabeth's coronation in 1953, Prince Philip, in an unscripted move, kissed his wife on the cheek — which reportedly angered the queen's mother. 

  5. Princess Anne Wedding Kiss

    Nearly 30 years later, the queen's daughter, Princess Anne, tied the knot with fellow equestrian Mark Phillips. Again, there's no wedding kiss on the balcony for all to see. Why? Because Princess Anne is part of the same older generation of royals that refrains from public displays of affection. 

  6. Princess Diana Wedding Kiss

    Though we know Princess Diana's marriage ultimately ended in tragedy, we can't deny how happy she looked on the day of her wedding. And fortunately, Diana's boys (who are the spitting image of their beloved mother) have had much better luck in relationships.

    Unlike his older brother Charles, Prince Andrew decided to marry someone who was not associated with the British aristocracy. Perhaps that rubbed off on little Prince William, who was a member of the wedding party at his uncle's nuptials.

    Perhaps our favorite royal wedding to date, Prince William and Kate Middleton's iconic wedding smooch on the balcony of Buckingham Palace is certainly the cherry on top of their fairy-tale romance. We can only hope Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's love story continues to be as magical as Kate and William's. 

  10. Zara Tindall Wedding Dress Kiss

    Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall (2011)

    Just weeks after her cousin Prince William walked down the aisle, Zara Phillips, Princess Anne's daughter, married rugby player Mike Tindall. Their shared love of sports — she won a silver medal as an equestrian at the 2012 Olympics in London — no doubt brought them together, and we think they make a beautiful couple.
