Kate Middleton Is In Danger of Being Replaced as a Trend-Setter

It’s no secret that Kate Middleton has been good for the fashion industry. Whenever the Duchess of Cambridge slips on a new accessory or dress, fans crash the designer’s website in the hopes of nabbing the outfit (or piece of jewelry or whatever). And within days, a knock-off piece hits the racks so far-less-wealthier mortals can sport the look too.

But now it’s time to move over, Duchess Kate! There’s a new style queen in town! And just as Kate was before she married into the royal family, she’s a commoner too. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that this lovely royal-to-be (at least, that’s what betting people think) is an actress with loads of fashion sense of her own.

Of course, we’re talking about Prince Harry’s new love, Meghan Markle.

According to the Daily Mail, when the 35-year-old was spotted wearing stacked Missoma rings, the jewelry company got thousands of new visitors hours after the photos were published. The “Meg effect” doesn’t stop there, either. Markle’s style, which is more budget-friendly than Kate Middleton’s, appears to be very popular with the British these days as fans flock to buy whatever the actress is wearing.

British designers are happy about this turn of events. Prince Harry’s GF, who’s in London now, has taken to wearing Hunter boots and other U.K. brands. Maybe she’s preparing for her new role?
