Hoda Kotb Was On Air When She Spotted Woman So Distressed, She Ran to Help

Hoda Kotb to the rescue! That’s what many viewers must have been thinking when they saw her step in the middle of what could have been a distressing situation on the TODAY Show.

During a fashion segment of the show, eagle-eyed Hoda spotted something “off” about one of the models that other people on the set might have missed.

The model in question, who was six months pregnant, suddenly became very unresponsive on set, despite being on live camera. Hoda grabbed the model’s arm, assuring her that she looked great in her outfit. But she still didn’t get much of a response from the woman, which visibly troubled her.

So Kotb began repeatedly asking the woman if she was alright—and her lack of response did not convince the host she could go on. So she suggested that the expectant mother sit off camera, ready to escort her to another location. Almost instantly after she said that, the model began to fall over—and Hoda caught her just in time.

“I got you,” she said. “I got you.”

A source later told the New York Post, “The model, who is six months pregnant and is called Jessica, said this has happened before, and she was fine. She declined an ambulance and recovered quickly.”

And a spokesperson for the TODAY Show issued this statement: “We are so glad Jessica is feeling better, and we wish her a very happy Mother’s Day.”

How scary! We’d hate to think of what might have happened if Hoda had not stepped up and taken control of the situation as quickly as she had. Thank goodness for her speedy response.
