9 HGTV Couples Following in Chip + Joanna’s Footsteps And Becoming Reno-Royalty

This couple from Laurel, Mississippi isn't the typical "flipping" duo. They specialize specifically in historic homes that they work to restore to their former glories (while also modernizing them along the way). Erin, an artist, and Ben, a woodworker, both blend their love of art and history into each home they work on together. "It's not like, 'He's the builder, she's the designer,'" Erin said to Fox News. "It's more of an all-sided approach that we take." Fun fact: They were discovered via Instagram!

Outside of the HGTV sphere, they've also taken a page out of the Chip and Jojo handbook by taking on ventures outside of home decor, such as authoring a children's book and running Laurel Mercantile Co., "the only place to find our signature collection including Scotsman Co., the store’s flagship brand of Ben’s handmade reclaimed furniture and gentlemen’s workwear, and American-made heirloom wares and durable goods for home and life."

Renovation Island first aired in 2019 on HGTV Canada and followed couple Bryan and Sarah Bauemler as they worked to restore an entire resort on an island in the Bahamas. Hauling their family along for the ride, fans watched them as they re-worked this previously abandoned location and hit various speed bumps along the way, including a global pandemic. Season three took us out of the Bahamas and into Florida where they began renovating their home there. 

Egypt Sherrod and her husband Mike Jackson team up to provide buyers with their dream homes in the Atlanta area. Egypt with her design and real estate expertise pairs with her husband Mike's building expertise to give their clients the homes that fit their lifestyles and budgets. 

“We’re really just us," Egypt said to HGTV, and Mike agrees. “Exactly what people see on television, that’s us around our house, with our friends, with our family, with our kids. And sometimes we just forget the camera’s there. So, it’s cool not to feel produced; it’s cool not to feel like the camera’s on. So, it doesn’t feel like work at all.”

Newer to the HGTV scene, Chelsea and Cole DeBoer work together as a husband-wife duo to transform homes with their renovation and design skills, all while juggling the stressors of everyday life (like four kids!) Some may recognize Chelsea from her role on the MTV series Teen Mom 2. 

The Kleinschmidts work together as a realtor-developer duo to make people's dream homes a reality. Their goal is, in only 100 days, to create the perfect home for their clients. 

"...We start the 100-day clock once we break ground. Nobody wants to watch the permitting process on television. We also have private inspectors that we bring in. That does help expedite the entire timeline. Also, we have a great production and construction crew that has produced what we've been doing for four seasons now," Brian explained to House Digest. "The biggest thing is all the sub[contractor]s work on the same page, and electricians don't mind being in the same house as plumbers and HVAC guys. A lot of times in the normal world, they want the entire house to themselves, so [teamwork definitely] gets it done...A lot of teamwork and a lot of prayers. A lot of praying."

Dave and Jenny come together to take historic, classic homes in need of repair near their Arkansas neighborhood, and turn them into updated forever homes with a more modern facelift!

You may recognize Tarek El Moussa from HGTV's Flip or Flop where he starred alongside ex-wife Christina Hall, but the couple have since gone their separate ways and to separate HGTV shows following their divorce. The Flipping El Moussas now follows Tarek and his wife Heather, her with her real estate expertise and him with his flipping expertise, as they transform homes together. 

Christina Hall had previously made up the other half of Flip or Flop alongside Tarek El Moussa, but she too found love again after their split in Josh Hall. Now, Josh works alongside her in Christina in the Country, where the two take on homes around Tennessee. 

Renovation Wild switches things up on the HGTV scene: Instead of renovating homes, Grant and Lynsey Cumings are renovating their family-run safari camps in the Zambian bush.
