Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay Surprise With ‘SVU’ Reunion

Our hearts broke when Christopher Meloni anounced he would not return to Law and Order: SVU after 12 seasons. But Meloni and his former co-star Mariska Hargitay recently snapped a picture that has Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson fans swooning.

For SVU viewers, the best gift came after Valentine’s Day. Hargitay, 53, posted a photo on her Instagram of herself and Meloni looking like they very much enjoy each other’s company.

“And then that happened… Just when I thought Valentine’s Day was over,” she captioned the photo.

This isn’t the first time the friends have reunited. Last December the pair got together over the holidays and shared a Christmas picture.

As co-stars from 1999 to 2011, these two have such great chemistry, which isn’t surprising. Since Meloni left SVU he has continued acting. He appeared in the 2014 film Man of Steel and had recurring roles in True Blood and Surviving Jack. Hargitay has since moved into the starring role of SVU, which is currently in its 18th season.
