Another Oscars has come and gone, but even if your favorite actor or actress didn’t take home a gold statue, like Best Actress winner Renée Zellweger, they didn’t exactly go home empty-handed: Yep, we’re talking about the legendary Oscars swag bag!
According to Newsweek, each and every one of the Academy’s nominees in the acting and casting departments is a winner as far as free loot is concerned. They all received a suitcase roughly one week before the big event that was piled high with complimentary treatments, trips, and goodies, from Los Angeles-based marketing firm Distinctive Assets.
Though the firm is not affiliated with the Oscars, it has been giving away the bags for the last 20 years or so, turning them into a time-honored tradition. For 2020, Forbes cites that the swag in each bag adds up to a whopping $225,000 — that’s a lot of goodies!
While some picks, like the $25,000 worth of complimentary treatments or cosmetic procedures from Dr. Konstantin Vasyukevich, or the 12-day yacht cruise to Antarctica valued at $78,190 (yes, really!) may be a bit out of reach for the rest of us mere mortals, a number of the other items found in this year’s Oscars swag bag were surprisingly affordable!
We’ve tracked down some of the most attainable finds of the bunch so that you can live like the other half, if only just for a moment, as you experience a new kind of guided meditation ($120.99, Amazon), lounge around in a super sensuous robe ($198, Soma), or indulge in a good-for-you cleanser ($11.99, Amazon).
